Glenn H. Marks

Hortonville - Glenn Harry Marks, age 77, passed away on Monday, May 10, 2021 at his residence, following brief health issues. Glenn was born to the late Norman and Adeline (Wendt) Marks in New London on May 13, 1943. He was united in marriage to Faye Popke on April 8, 1972. Glenn farmed in the Hortonville area his entire life. He was a member of the Hortonia Fire Department for 30 years and on the board of directors for the Greenville Co-op for 40 years, serving as president for many of them. He was a man of simple pleasures. Glenn enjoyed going for Sunday drives, tractor rides with his grand kids, reading the newspaper and farming magazines, breakfasts with his 1957 confirmation buddies and sharing jokes and stories.

Glenn is survived by his wife, Faye; his children, Jodi (Justin) Slominsky and their children, Addie, Katie, Ben and Erin; Andy (Amy) Marks, and their children, Karlie and Joey; Bobbi (Allen) Ostermann and their children, Lizzie, Brett and Seth; and Kristi (Tom) Hager and their children, Ethan and Kelsey; siblings, Lee (Jennifer) Marks and Kathy (Matt) Manske and in-laws, Lorraine (Chub) Stern, Harold (Millie) Daberkow and Cheryl (Ken) Krause. He is further survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Glenn was preceded in death by his parents; infant brother, Leon; great-niece, Chloe Eckelberg; father and mother-in-law, Cleland and Dora Popke; and sisters-in-law, Yvonne Daberkow and Karen Kratzke.

The funeral service for Glenn will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 13, 2021 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Hortonville with Rev. Tristan Paustian officiating. The visitation for Glenn will be held on Wednesday, May 12, 2021 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Borchardt & Moder Funeral Home in Hortonville and again from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service on Thursday at the church. Burial will be in Union Cemetery, Hortonville.
