Kasperek, James Stanley

James Stanley Kasperek age 75, died unexpectedly at Appleton Medical Center in Appleton on Thursday July 7, 2011. He was born in Appleton on February 21, 1936, the son of the late Stan and Marge (Champeau) Kasperek. On September 20,1958, he married his wife of 52 years, Dee Kasperek in Pico Rivera, CA.

He graduated from Appleton High School in 1954 (known at that time as "Jake"), and served in the Navy for 4 years. He worked for 34 years at Marathon-Georgia Pacific in Menasha. After retiring in 1998, they relocated to Lakewood, WI, where he cherished his friendships with neighbors and close friends. For the last 8 years, Tucson, AZ has been their winter home - again, cherishing many friends and memories.

Jim enjoyed bowling (known as "Barney"), golfing, gardening, family reunions, and most recently bocie ball. He loved reading Louis LaMour book. He belonged to the Knights of Columbus, Wabeno, and AmVets in Tucson, AZ. He also was a member of St. Mary of the Lakes Catholic Church in Lakewood, WI.

Jim is survived by his loving wife, Dee of Lakewood, WI; Children: Cheryl (Louie) Van Toll of Appleton; Mike (Connie) Kasperek of Menasha; Theresa (Jim) Van Rooy of Appleton, and Jeff (Tinker) Kasperek of Appleton. He is also survived by his brother, Fr. David Kasperek of Green Bay; Sister-in-laws, Nay Kasperek of Neenah and Anne (Bob) Steward of Pico Rivera, CA. Nephew, Kevin (Lisa) Kasperek of Appleton and special uncle Bill (Dot) Greasby of Lakewood. His grandchildren include Staci (Eric) Evans; Travis Meyers; Jackie (Josh) Nieman; Brittany Meyers; Brian (and fianc? Cassie) Kasperek; Warren (Abby) Van Rooy; Rachele Van Rooy; Kristin & JP Kasperek and Michaela Hammett. Great Grandchildren include Karissa & Hailey Evans; Brayden & Clayton Nieman; Maliyah Meyers; Austin Bauer-Kasperek and Jackson & Madison Van Rooy. Jim is preceded in death by his parents, brother Ken Kasperek and In-Laws Annie and Tom Kenyon.

Visitation will be held at St. Mary of the Lakes Catholic Church, Lakewood, WI on Sunday July 10 from 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. and again on Monday July 11, 2011 from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m., with a Mass of Christian burial to follow. Dee/Theresa and Family~ I was sorry to hear about Jim. I will always remember that he could make me laugh whenever I saw him from years ago until the present. I remember the time when I was in Lakewood with my cousin, Nay. We spent a Sunday afternoon with Jim and Dee, watching the Packer game. Then they invited us to stay for supper. What great people! I know Jim will be dearly missed. You have my sincere sympathy.
