Joanne LeMoine Obituary

LeMoine, Joanne B.

Joanne Bernice Rechner LeMoine, age 82, was carried Home in the arms of her loving Heavenly Father on Sunday, July 14, 2013. She left this life as she had lived it - peacefully, at home, and surrounded by her abundant family.

Joanne was born on June 22, 1931, the only child of Joseph and Gertrude (Lickert) Rechner. She attended St. Mary Catholic School in Menasha and worked as a receptionist at Banta Publishing Company after graduation in 1949. During her first marriage, Joanne bore six children who were her pride and joy. She married her sweetheart, Robert (Papa) LeMoine, on May 11, 1979, and increased the size of her family with five stepchildren. Offspring married and brought forth grandchildren, and Joanne's childhood dream of having a large family became reality. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were the loves of her life, each one a unique spark of energy that could light up her eyes and brighten her day, and she loved each of them specially. Memories of chocolate chip cookies, card games, a camera always at-the-ready, and a goodbye wave at the front picture window are treasures her loved ones will carry in their hearts forever. And love. Always love.

Joanne had a profound faith in God. She lived her faith by example and imprinted it onto the lives of her children and grandchildren. She was a continuous prayer warrior, not only for family, but for her friends and their needs as well. She loved her "club girls". Joanne was a long-time member of Catholic Daughters. Her favorite day of the week was Sunday, the Lord's day, and she relished going to Mass to celebrate Him. She offered up her praise in song with the beautiful voice He had given her. Today she is singing with the angels.

Joanne was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Gertrude Rechner (Schultz); son-in-law Philip Orkin; infant grandson Jacob; infant step-grandson Jayden. She is survived by her loving husband of 34 years, Robert. Her children: Kristine (the late Philip) Orkin, Steven (Dara) Zimmer, Mark Zimmer, Dianne Bautch, Wendy (Stanley) Holwerda, and Mary (Jeffrey) Nett. Stepchildren: Rebecca (Daniel) Rippl, Ross (Mary Jo) LeMoine, Ruby LeMoine, Rose (Brian) Giesbers, and Robert E. LeMoine. Grandchildren: Tony, Tami (Ryan), Tara (Ben), Joey, Laura, Sara, Jonathan, Alyse, Whitney, Haley, Abby, Jared, Chad, Morgan, Michael (Sarah), Dana, Nora, Matthew. Great-grandchildren: Jadon, Deklyn, Haedyn, Adalee, Will, Autumn. Also survived by in-laws LaVerne Simon-Behrens, Marilyn (Norbert) Woods, Ellie DiLoreto, Gerry (Steve) Pinkowsky, Bea Daniel, Rita (Bill) Fulton, Mary (John) Kese, Don (Cheri) LeMoine, and Kathy LeMoine.

Visitation at St. Bernadette Church, 2331 E. Lourdes Dr., Appleton (9:30-11:30 AM) on Thursday, July 18. Funeral Mass at 11:30. Luncheon to follow. The family would like to thank the staff at St. Elizabeth Hospital and Affinity Hospice for the wonderful care extended to our Mom.

"Thank you, Mom/Gramma/Grammy/Joanne, for always loving us unconditionally. You left too soon, but you went in God's time. Look down from Heaven's big picture window and give a wave. We love you!" XOXOXOX

REMEMBER ME..when flowers bloom, early in the spring.
Remember me on sunny days, in the fun that summer brings.
Remember me in the fall, as you walk through leaves of gold. In the wintertime, remember me, in the stories that are told. But most of all remember, each day, right from the start. I will be forever near, for I live within your heart.
(Judith Bulock Morse)

I will always remember you Joanne. I miss you so much and I will always love you. Save a place for me.

Mom, it's been a year already since you left us. We glimpse you every day in the flower gardens and plants that you so loved, and in the eyes and hearts of our siblings and our children. We hear your voice at our family gatherings, in the silence and in the laughter, in church hymns and Christmas carols. We smell you when we catch a whiff of freshly baked chocolate chip cookies, or open the back door and step foot into the house that was "home" for over three decades. We feel your heart whenever we pray, whenever we hug our kids, whenever one of us is in pain. We see you, hear you, smell you every day, saddened by the fact we can no longer touch you. But you are imprinted on our memories, imbedded in our hearts, and live forever through our lives. We miss you here among us, and thank God that we had you for so many years. Dance, Mom. And sing. They are what you loved to do. Hug and kiss Nana & Bucky, Grandma & Gumpy, Phil & Jakey, and all our Zimmer aunts and uncles for us. We'll see you all soon. In the meantime, stay in touch . . . we feel your presence. Love, Krissie

I'm very sorry to hear of Aunt Joanne's passing. Summer's with my Zimmer family in Wisconsin were always memorable and Aunt Joanne was a big part of that. She was fun-loving with a contagious smile that made you feel at home and she loved having all of us Zimmer kids from CT hang out at her house. She will certainly be missed but was clearly loved by her family.

Thinking of you.

Love, Lisa

When I think of Joannne I remember her laughter and smiles. She was a very, very kind person. As an Aunt she took sincere interest in the lives of her nieces and nephews, and their children as well. I wish I could dim the stars in the sky to honor her.

Dear LeMoine Family,
I am so sad to read of your mothers passing today. My mother, Agnes Miller & I have known her for many years due to her membership in the Catholic Daughter of the Americas. She was a very lovely lady and one to be so proud of and she was in all of you!
