Kenneth Kleist Obituary

Kleist, Kenneth

Kenneth H. Kleist, age 74, of Conover, WI passed away on Saturday, March 14, 2015 at St. Joseph's Hospital in Marshfield following a brief illness as a result of carbon monoxide poisoning. He was born November 3, 1940 a son of the late Harold and Doris (Uecke) Kleist.

Kenny was a professional musician his entire life. His talents allowed him to entertain countless people throughout the country, and his love of music was always evident. There were many accolades during his career, far too many to mention.

He was passionate about the outdoors and enjoyed many camping trips and hiking out west. Kenny traveled the world seeking new adventures. It wasn't uncommon for Kenny to contact his family and friends from somewhere abroad.

Kenny is survived by two children: Andy (Julie) Kleist and Tammy (Dave) Weber; six grandchildren: Kimberly, Becca, Randi, Tanner, Eli, and Rachel; one great-grandchild, Alanna. Further survived by five siblings: Sally (Gerry) Kalt, Lynn (Charlie) Ness, Ben (Jenny), Steve, and Carl Kleist; nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister-in-law, Cindy Kleist; and nephew, John Kleist.

Friends may call at Muehl-Boettcher Funeral Home, Seymour, on Thursday, March 26 from 4pm to 7pm to join the family in celebrating Kenny's life. Online condolences may be expressed at www.muehlboettcher.com

Another who so deservedly belongs in the WAMI Hall of Fame. I will never forget your, Gary Laabs, Dave Hermsen, and Glenn Sherwood's return from California and the Jaguar's first appearance at the Knight. For those who are much too young to know the early pioneers of rock n' roll in the Fox Valley, they will never understand what they have missed. Long May your Memory Run. The photo of you and Tom Gebheim is priceless.
