Kim Lieb Obituary

Lieb, Kim L.

Kim L. Lieb, age 61, of Appleton, passed away peacefully in her sleep on August 9, 2017, at her home. Kim was born on June 9, 1956, in Appleton to Roy "Oakie" and Burnetta "Nettie" (Adams) Tischauser. She was a 1975 graduate of Appleton East High School. On December 4, 1978, Kim married Brian Lieb in Las Vegas, Nevada and together they raised 2 children. She was a long time employee of Schreiner's Diner in Appleton. Family was very important to Kim. She loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, family and friends. She also loved taking care of her "granddog" Grayson and watching Ben play softball. Kim enjoyed trips to the casino, watching Brewers, Cubs and Little Falls baseball games. She enjoyed shopping, fishing, playing cards, visiting the Minnesota State Fair and the Mile of Music. Kim liked baking and was known as "The Pie Lady" at both Schreiner's and at church. She also enjoyed crafting and making cross stitch bibs.

Kim was a fun loving lady who had an ability to make people smile and was able to laugh at herself. She also loved the "2 ½ months" of Christmas. When Kim loved something, it was whole heartedly.

Kim will be sadly missed by: her children, Kelsey (Ryan) Nechodom and Casey (fiancé Ben Blackwell) Lieb, grandchildren, Jameson Milhaupt, Rylee Nechodom, Kynlee Nechodom and her "granddog" Grayson, siblings, Sue (Todd) Berg, Lance (Kaylene) Tischauser and Cory Tischauser, nieces and nephews, Jared (Angella), Ethan Woerishofer and Genna Mattioli, Tyler Berg and Taylor and McKenzie Tischauser. Kim is further survived by her dear friends Linda Coonen, Kathy Spoehr, Chris Marlborough, and her 2nd family at Schreiner's Diner. Kim is further survived by Brian (Linda) Lieb, as well as other relatives and friends.

Kim was preceded in death by her parents, Oakie and Nettie.

There will be a gathering of family and friends on Sunday, August 13, 2017, from 4:00pm to 7:00pm at Wichmann Funeral Homes, Oneida Street location. Visitation will continue at Christ the King Lutheran Church, 601 S. Washington Street in Combined Locks, on Monday, August 14, 2017, from 1:00pm to 3:00pm with the funeral service to follow, Rev. Nate Gauerke officiating. For more information and to express condolences, please visit www.wichmannfuneralhomes.com.

Kim's family would like to thank the Marlborough Family, the Appleton Police Department, Gold Cross Paramedics, the Fox Cities Victim Crisis Response Team and Kim's neighbors and friends who were all so helpful at our time of need.

It has never been quite the same without Kim, "The Pie Lady", at Schreiner's Diner. It was always a pleasant occasion to speak with her. No one could, or has yet, made a custard pie as delicious as hers. Wonderful memories of a special person.

I was deeply saddened to learn of Kim's sudden passing. I always enjoyed talking with her whenever I would stop at Schreiner's Diner. "The Pie Lady" was a special person, one who touched many lives. It will never be the same there again without her presence. My deepest sympathy to her family and friends during your time of sorrow.

So sorry to hear of Kimmie's passing. Hard to believe, when I think back on childhood memories of when our neighborhood was alive and kicking with the shrills of all us kids. Thanks Kim. for being a piece of this collective puzzle only Schaefer St. neighbors could create.
