Lisa Nolan-Wartchow Obituary

Lisa Lee Nolan-Wartchow

Lisa Lee Nolan-Wartchow, of Weyauwega, 46, went to her heavenly home on February 19, 2015, after a courageous battle with Multiple Sclerosis (MS). She was born on January 16th, 1969 to Robert and Rita (Kohl) Nolan. In 1987, Lisa graduated from Weyauwega-Fremont High School and then moved to Colorado with her soul mate, Keith Wartchow. In April of 1988, they married and started their family back in Wisconsin, raising 2 beautiful daughters, Megan & Emily. At the young age of 25, Lisa became diagnosed with progressive aggressive MS and was bound to a wheelchair by the time she was 26, yet that never stopped her from sharing her radiant smile and kind heart with the rest of the world. She became an advocate for people who were also paralyzed, giving them hope and courage to make their next day brighter than the last. She became Miss Wheelchair Wisconsin 2003 and continued to be an inspiration to all who knew her. Lisa found great joy in her service dog, Max, that she trained from a puppy and was her closets companion. One could not see Lisa without him by her side. She found happiness in many forms including painting with her business Heavenly Hobbies, gardening, camping, horseback riding and most of all cruising on the back of the Harley. She had an incredible smile and passion for life touching each one she encountered.

Survivors include Mother Rita (Kohl) Nolan; the love of her life, Keith Wartchow; daughters, Emily Wartchow and Megan (Ben) Kolosso; grandchildren, Brock and Elijah; sister: Michelle (Bart) Young; nephews Spencer and Hunter Young, and her furry companions: Sissy and Copper, as well as many other family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her father Robert Nolan, and beloved service dog Max.

A memorial service for Lisa will be held on Tuesday, February 24, 2015, at 6:00 p.m. at St. John's Episcopal Church (1513 Pinewood Lane) in New London with Fr. Paul Feider officiating. A gathering of family and friends will take place directly at the church on Tuesday from 4:00p.m. until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established.
