Louis Baehman Obituary

Baehman, Louis

Louis F. Baehman, 92, of Ripon, Wisconsin, was called by his Lord to his home in heaven on September 10, 2014, in the loving presence of his family, at Golden Living Center-Continental Manor, Randolph, WI. He was born March 13, 1922, in Hortonville, WI, the son of Louis A. and Clara (Winter) Baehman. He graduated from Bethlehem Lutheran Grade School in Hortonville and then went to work on the family farm. He married Irma Hafner on March 9, 1947. She preceded him in death on March 23, 2003, after 56 years of marriage. He married Margie Hinkley on August 24, 2007. She passed away September 20, 2010.

Lou served in the United States Marine Corps during WWII. He worked for Sylvester Nielsen in Appleton until 1950 when he and Irma moved to Oshkosh where he worked for Race Office Supply and later for Triplex Supply Company out of Milwaukee. In 1975 Lou and Irma bought Oshkosh Church Supply and operated this business for twelve years until retirement. Lou was a faithful member of Faith Lutheran Church, Oshkosh, Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Oshkosh, and later Mt. Zion Lutheran Church in Ripon. He was a volunteer at Winnebago Mental Health and Bethesda Thrift Mart in Neenah for almost 20 years. He also participated in several projects with Builders for Christ.

Lou is survived by his son David (Judy) Baehman of Salisbury, Maryland; two daughters, Barbara (Richard) Zondag of Randolph, WI, and Patricia (Rev. Kenneth) Arndt of Elizabeth, Illinois; eight grandchildren, John and Erin Baehman; Sara, Andrew, Nathan (Alicia), and Marcus (Kara) Zondag; Chris and Brian (Cody) Arndt; four great-granddaughters, Aria and Sydney Arndt; Helena and Persephone Zondag, one great-grandson, Hunter Arndt; and three step-children, Ken (Shirley) Keenlance, Delbert (Sherry) Keenlance, and Karen (Larry) Workowski. He is further survived by one sister, Vera (John) Maahs, Holly Lake Ranch, Texas, and many nieces, nephews, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, Vernon, Kenneth, and Walmer, and one sister, Elnora.

Visitation will be Monday, September 15 from 5-8 pm and on Tuesday from 10 am until time of service at Mt. Zion Lutheran Church, 320 Mt. Zion Dr., Ripon. The funeral service will be held at 11 am on Tuesday with Pastor Dennis Meier officiating.

The family wishes to thank Maplecrest Manor Assisted Living in Ripon, Golden Living Center-Continental Manor in Randolph, and Generations Hospice for their loving care over the past two and a half years.
