Mabel Zimmerman

Mabel Zimmerman, age 84, of Appleton, passed away on Wednesday, February 27, 2013. She was born on October 13, 1928, to the late John and Ella Miller. Mabel retired from AT&T after 35 years and was a lifelong member at Faith Lutheran Church. She had a never ending passion for flowers and gardening, and also loved to travel. Mabel always had a smile on her face and was a true inspiration to her family.

Mabel is survived by her children: Richard (Donna) Zimmerman, Linda (Tom) Swaim, Pam (Paul) Salmon, Jeff Zimmerman, and Karen Karls; grandchildren: Renee (Richard) Svevad, Duane (Shelly) Zimmerman, Darren (Lori) Zimmerman, Dawn Zimmerman, Jill (Ron Schmidt) Zimmerman, Crystal (John) Vodopija, Stacie Salmon, William Zimmerman, Megan Karls, and Ethan Karls; great-grandchildren: Danielle, Cady, and Thaddeus Zimmerman; siblings: Evelyn Gandy and Raymond Miller; sis: Esther Reno; nieces, nephews, and many dear friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Zimmerman; son: Ronald Zimmerman; nine siblings and parents.

Funeral services for Mabel will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, March 4, 2013, at FAITH LUTHERAN CHURCH, 601 E. Glendale Avenue, Appleton with Rev. Rudy Herbrich. Hours of visitation will be held at the Wichmann Tri-County Chapel, 3212 S. Oneida Street, from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 3, 2013. An additional hour of visitation will be held at church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services. Mabel will be laid to rest privately at Highland Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in her name. Online condolences may be expressed at wichmannfargo.com.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to Joe and Deb Linsmeyer and Brewster Village for all of their compassionate care.

Our deepest sympathy to the Zimmerman Family.We were neighbors of Mabel & what a wonderful & caring person.Mabel loved planting flowers & keeping her yard looking good.When Louann & I sold our house next to Mabel,it wasn't the same living in Whitelaw as it was next to Mabel.We wrote back & forth & we missed her very much. Mabel you will be missed by all Mary & Louann,
