Dear Lindsey, My heart broke when I realized this was "your" Mitch. I believe he will always be with you and the boys, if you will be open to looking. Look at those sweet little boys, and be thankful for a love that many never find in a lifetime. I will be praying for you all. And, am thankful that the AFD was blessed to have FF Mitchell Lundgaard to serve our community.
Very sincerely,

God Bless Lindsey, her three sons and Mitch's family during this tragic and difficult time in their lives. Mitch died a HERO doing what he trained to be that being a Firefighter/EMT. Everyone will miss him, even us who did not know him, but learned of him through his passing. God give Mitch's family, friends and fellow firefighters the strength to carry on with his legacy. Thanks to the other fire departments who will man the fire stations while his funeral will be held. You will always be a HERO

To the Lundgaard family and the Appleton fire department, you have my deepest sympathies and prayers from Maine. My father suffered a fatal heart attack before I turned 4. That was over 41 years ago. May God bring the family and firehouse a most generous portion of comfort, hope and peace through all of your lives. May He provide purpose in the years ahead and support through your family and community.
