Patricia A Hoelzel, 80, Appleton, passed away Wed. April 27, 2016 at her home. She was born Nov. 8, 1935 in Appleton to the late Joseph and Harriet (Nagreen) Theisen. Pat married Donald Hoelzel on Sept. 15, 1956 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Appleton. She had a very loving and generous spirit and enjoyed the company of others. She enjoyed sewing and was an excellent baker and cook and lovingly shared her talents with family, friends, and church activities. Pat and Don were charter members of St. Thomas More Catholic Church and she was also a member of the STM ladies group. Her and Don enjoyed volunteering at Salvation Army. After Don's retirement, they traveled with friends on many bus trips around the country, and she traveled to Ireland with her sister Sue. She enjoyed family vacations at the lake with her children and grandchildren. She especially loved playing games and cards with her grandchildren and had funny quotes that made them laugh.

She will be greatly missed by her husband, Donald of almost 60 years; children: Rick (Denise) Hoelzel; Mary (Tom) Bolwerk; Tina (Michael) Huelsbeck; Betty (Brad) Gehring and Leann (Michael) Novak; 8 grandchildren: Steve (Beth Hoelzel); Scott Hoelzel; Amanda (Jeremy) Van Dera; Jennifer (Eric) Hobbs; Nicole Huelsbeck; Alyssa and Joshua Gehring and Haiden Novak; a sister, Sue Henke; brother, Pete Theisen and numerous nieces and nephews.

Pat was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Mary; two brothers: Joseph (Marge) Theisen and Robert Theisen and a brother-in-law, Dick Henke.

A Mass of Resurrection for Pat will be held at 11 AM, Monday, May 2, 2016 at St. Thomas More Catholic Church, Appleton with Rev. James Lucas officiating. Interment will be in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Appleton. Friends may visit the family on Sunday from 3 -6 PM at Brettschneider Trettin-Nickel Funeral Chapel with a prayer service starting at 5:30. Monday there will be visitation directly at church from 9 - 11. A memorial fund is being established.

Dad, we are so grateful for your unconditional love and care for mom. Your love for her is an inspiration to all of us.

Mom, Grandma, we are thankful for the extra time you gave us to show you just how much we all love you. You may be gone, but you will always be with us.
