Renee' Scanlon Obituary

On October 10, 2011 Renee' (Na-Na) Christine Scanlon finally found peace and tranquility. Born in Outagamie County, WI, on February 8, 1950, she was a daughter of LaVerne Simon-Behrens and the late Marcel G. Simon. Predeceased by her husband of 33 years, Michael John Scanlon, she enjoyed a multitude of careers including shrimp boat trolling, charter fishing, restaurateur and mother of two on the Gulf coast of Florida and excelled at them all.

Her most rewarding career came later in life working for the State of Florida in Citrus County as a Child Support Enforcement officer. Included in Renee's achievements was graduating from Santa Fe College in Gainesville, FL in 1999 as a member of Phi Theta Kapa in Computer Information Systems.

Renee` is survived by her two daughters Sunda Sue Scanlon (Marty Adams) of Homosassa, FL, Kerry Colleen Scanlon of Homosassa, FL; three brothers, Victor Simon (Nancy)of Naples, FL, Jeffrey Simon (Brigitte)of Naples, FL, Marc Simon of Waupaca, WI; two sisters, Cynthia Simon of Appleton, WI, Leslie Whiting (David) of Naples, FL; and last, but certainly not least, Troubles and Shamus, her loving English Bull Dogs.

As per the wishes of both Renee` and Michael, their ashes will be scattered in the glorious waters of Little Exuma, Bahamas where many years ago memories of a lifetime were made.

The family wishes to thank HPH Hospice and AVOW Hospice for their loving care of our beloved Mother.

Memorials may be made to HPHhospice, www.hph-hospice.org , ASPCA, www.ASPCA.org/donate or any Veterans Assistance Organizations.

Sunda, Kerry and family,
We have just now learned of Renee's passing and can't possibly tell you how shocked and surprised we are. We have not seen Renee or had contact for many years, still it is hard to learn of an old friend who has suddenly passed. Especially one who was always so
"full of life" as Renee. She was always kind and willing to accommodate our unexpected visits to her and Michael. I will never forget the first time she filled her kitchen sink with fresh shrimp to prepare us one of our first Florida treats. We loved her and Michael for their spirit and will never forget what they have added to our lives just knowing them.
Please accept our deepest sympathy.
