Richard Eiting Obituary

Richard H. "Dick" Eiting

Hollandtown - Dick Eiting, age 85, passed into the loving arms of Jesus, surrounded by his entire family on July 18, 2021. He was born on May 23, 1936, son of the late Elmer and Magdalen (Nackers) Eiting. Dick married the love of his life, Betty Van De Loo on November 25, 1959 at St. Francis Catholic Church, and have celebrated 61 years of marriage.

Dick worked at White Clover Dairy for 45 years before his retirement. He was also involved with the Hollandtown Sanitary District for many years and volunteered at the St. Paul Home.

Dick was a dedicated, life-long member of St. Francis Catholic Church in Hollandtown. He was at the church daily and devoted much of his life to the well-being of the parish. Dick was a founding member and the longtime director of the St. Francis Men's Choir. Dick also supported just about anything else "Hollandtown". He always supported local businesses (especially Van Abel's) and worked on keeping Hollandtown thriving. He was a quiet leader in the community.

Dick's hobbies included gardening and playing cards. He loved the family vacations to Shawano. First and foremost, Dick was a family man. Time spent with his children and grandchildren was his greatest joy. He loved them dearly and will be truly missed by all.

Dick is survived by his loving wife, Betty; children: Greg (Jane) Eiting, Mark (Julie) Eiting, Sara Eiting, Patty (Paul) Lamers and Tom (Michelle) Eiting; grandchildren: Tim, Matt and Adam Eiting, Ryan, Nick, Erin and Luke Eiting, Jenny (fiance, Marco), Andy and Emily Lamers; Michaela (fiance, Michael), Jake, Mitchell and Madelyn Eiting; brothers and sisters-in-law: Judy Eiting, Jack Berghuis, Mike Janssen, Cliff Feldkamp, Fr. Willard Van De Loo, Dorothy (Connie) Van De Hey, Jerry (Marlene) Van De Loo, Cliff (Jan) Van De Loo, Dick (Kay) Van De Loo and Pat Marx; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

Dick was preceded in death by his parents, Elmer and Magdalen Eiting; siblings: Bob Eiting, Rosemary Berghuis, Jan (Ray) Van Zeeland, Alice Janssen and Helen "Butchie" Feldkamp; father and mother-in-law, Ed and Margie Van De Loo; brothers and sisters-in-law: Anna Mae (Leonard) Pribek, Delores (John "Red") Hofacker and Ed Marx.

Visitiaton for Dick will be held on Wednesday, July 21, 2021, at St. Francis Catholic Church, 433 County Road CE, Hollandtown, from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. A prayer service will take place at 7:00 p.m. Visitation will continue on Thursday morning at church from 9:00 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. The funeral liturgy will be held at 11:00 a.m. with Dick's brother-in-law, Fr. Willard Van De Loo officiating and Fr. Don Everts concelebrating. Burial will be held in the parish cemetery. For online condolences, please visit www.verkuilenfh.com.
