Robert Locke Obituary

Locke, Robert P.

Robert Paul Locke, age 92, of Appleton, WI. , formerly of Kalamazoo, MI. passed away peacefully on Thursday July 28, 2011. He was born on March 29, 1919 in Oak Park, IL; son of the late Rubin "Fred" and Pansy (Philips) Locke. Robert was a Veteran of World War II serving in the U.S. Army. He received his Bachelor of Fine Arts from the Art Institute of Chicago. During his career, Robert was President of Lockshore Farms, GoldenLocks Ice Cream and The Gift Loft, all in Kalamazoo. He was an accomplished Artist in his retirement.

He is lovingly survived by his three children, Stephen (Deborah) Locke of Grand Rapids; Margaret Locke of Seattle, Washington; Catherine Locke of Neenah, Wisconsin; four grandchildren, Amanda (Jeff) Abar, Joseph Locke, Robert Yazicioglu and Stephen Yazicioglu; three great-grandchildren, Emmett, Lily and Vivian Abar.

A memorial services with military honors will be held 10 am on Monday August 15th at Langeland Funeral Home 622 S. Burdick Street, Kalamazoo, MI., 49007. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Kalamazoo Institute of Art, 314 S. Park Street, Kalamazoo, MI.
