Roger Geiser Obituary

Roger P. Geiser, age 79, of Chilton, died on Tuesday, November 15, 2011 at West Haven in Brillion. He was born November 29, 1931 in Charlestown, son of the late Martin & Magdalena (Gruber) Geiser. Roger married Lois Thiel on October 26, 1954 at St. John Catholic Church in St. John. After marriage, he served his country in the United States Navy from 1956-1958. Roger worked for Hingiss Implement in Chilton and the Chilton Plating Company until retiring in 1993. He was a member of Good Shepherd Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus, and the Catholic Knight, Charlestown Chapter. Roger was a quiet man who, in the summer, spent morning until night in his garden. During the winter, Roger was content cracking hickory nuts in his free time. Roger was devoted to his family and always enjoyed going to his children and grandchildren's sporting events. He was a strong man of faith who loved his church and loved being able to volunteer his time to make the church stronger. Survivors include his wife: Lois; his children: Marty (Jenna) Geiser of DeForest; Myron (Ann) Geiser of Kaukauna; 5 grandchildren: Garrett, Megan, Grace, McKayla & Erin; a brother: Alfred Geiser; 2 sisters: Loretta Keuler, Evelyn (Don) Konen; and a brother-in-law: Paul Kees. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. Roger was preceded in death by his parents; an infant son: Larry; a grandchild: Bradley Geiser; and 8 siblings. Funeral service will be at 11:00 AM on Saturday, November 19, 2011 at Good Shepherd Catholic Church (54 E. Main St.) in Chilton with the Rev. Bob Kollath officiating. Burial will be in the St. Mary Catholic Cemetery in Chilton. Friends may call at the Wieting Family Funeral Home (411 W. Main St.) in Chilton from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM on Friday, November 18, 2011 and on Saturday at the church from 9:30 AM until 10:30 AM. A Knights of Columbus prayer service will take place at the close of visitation on Friday evening. The family would like to thank all those who provided such loving care to Roger, especially the staff of West Haven in Brillion.

So sorry to hear of Rogers' passing. Although I'm not around, I have such fond memories of the family. Hoping that time will heal all and memories will keep all of us smiling. Comfort you will find in knowing he is in a happy place looking down on us, laughing with my dad and the rest that preceeded him to the Lord. Love and hugs from Pensacola.
