Roger Werbelow Obituary

Werbelow, Roger M.

Roger M. Werbelow, age 74 of Clintonville, passed away Friday evening, September 9, 2016 at the Thedacare Medical Center in Shawano with family at his side.

Roger was born on March 28, 1942 in Shawano as the son of the late Charles and Martha (Kriewaldt) Werbelow. He graduated from Shawano High School in 1960 and shortly after moved to Milwaukee. Roger enlisted in the United States Army in 1962 and served in Korea for 14 months prior to his discharge in 1965. He was united in marriage to Mary Kuhn on January 28, 1967 at the St. James Lutheran Church in Shawano. The couple then moved to Clintonville in 1968 where Roger was employed at FWD Seagrave until retiring in 1999. Roger was a faithful member of St. Martin Lutheran Church in Clintonville ever since moving to town. He had a passion for trains going back to his childhood where his home was next to a set of railroad tracks. Roger was always ready for a good vacation with family and loved joking with them. He was very talented when it came to woodworking and made sure his yard was always in tip top shape. As a big fan of the Milwaukee Brewers, Roger looked forward to his annual bus trip to a game with his family. He loved his grandchildren and never missed the opportunity to attend their sporting events. A quote he used often that reflected his personality was his senior quote, "The most dangerous part of a car is the nut that holds the wheel".

Survivors include: His Wife: Mary.

Daughters: Tina (Rafe) Wait, Clintonville and their children; Benjamin & Hailey.

Kathy (Darrin) Schley, New London and their children; Dylan & Katelyn.

Sister: Marcella (Roger) Schreiber, Appleton.

Brothers-in-Law: Charles (Joan) Urban, Shawano & Ronald (Colleen) Urban, Bonduel.

Also numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

Roger was preceded in death by his parents, brothers; Elmer (Joann) & Harvey (Joyce), and sisters; Sadie (Vernon) Kratzke, Irene (Ray) Nicholaus, & Bernice (Clayton) Hogan.
