Steven Huss Obituary

Steven D. Huss

Center - Steven Daniel Huss entered the Kingdom of Heaven on February 9, 2021 after a life full of love, laughter, family, and friendships. He was born on April 22, 1968 to Donald and Joyce (Everts) Huss. Steve graduated from Little Chute High School in 1986, and went on to start his own excavating business, Dirt Works. Along the way, he made many close friends whom he thought of as family.

Steve was well known for his laugh; his smile was contagious. He lit up any dark bar with his presence. He was generous and never greedy. Hebrews 13:16 reads, "Do not neglect to do good and to share what you have, for such sacrifices are pleasing to God". Steve was the kind of man that would give the shirt off his back, plus three more, to anyone who needed it. He gave without concern for himself and would never ask for anything in return. He was the kind of friend and family everyone loved to have. To family, he was lovingly known as Crazy Uncle Steve. He made family functions a blast every time he came over, and conspired with his nieces and nephews, always getting all of them into some kind of mischief.

Steve lived life the way it is supposed to be. He laughed, loved, and lived everyday like it was his last. He was always planning his next adventure. He sky-dived, snowmobiled, fished, water skied, biked, hiked, four-wheeled, participated in trap shooting, and drove race cars. He loved spending time with friends at the Kountry Bar on the weekends. When Steve was young, he was a talented artist and drew many sketches of deer. This sparked his passion for hunting. Steve was a knowledgeable, skilled, and experienced hunter. He traveled all over the United States and Mexico. Steve called his trip to Alaska in August 2020 "the trip of a lifetime" when he shot a large dall sheep and a trophy grizzly bear. He loved showing pictures of his prized hunts to his family and friends.

Steve is survived by his mother Joyce (Everts) Huss; sister Sandy (Huss) Romenesko; brother Rick (Joyce) Huss; nieces Carly and Natalie Romenesko; nephews: Mitch (Christine) Nabbefeld, Matt (Kasey) Nabbefeld, and Nick Huss (friend Danielle); great nieces and nephews: Hayden, Zach, Anna, Weston, and Kensie Nabbefeld, and Rory Huss; and many close friends.

He is preceded in death by his father Donald Huss; grandparents Max and Eleanor Everts and Clarence and Odelia Huss; brother-in-law Jack Romenesko; "man's best friends" Jake and Axel.

Visitation will be held February 20, 2021 at HOLY SPIRIT PARISH - KIMBERLY CHURCH (620 E. Kimberly Avenue, Kimberly) beginning at 9:30 a.m. until time of Mass at 11:00 a.m. with the Rev. Donald Everts officiating. Committal St. Joseph Cemetery. To sign the guest book, please visit oconnellfh.com.

Steve, you always made my day when you called or came over. First thing you would always say is a big "Hello Mother. How are you?". I'm not going to say goodbye because you'll always be in our hearts, so say a big hello to all our loved ones. We all love you, always will. —Steve's mother, Joyce Huss

Steve's family would especially like to thank his friends Chad, Dave, Jeff, Scott, and Trent. We would also like to thank the Outagamie Sheriff's department and coroner's office for their help and compassion.

My husband and I just watched Dust to Dust, Modern Day Mountain Man with Steve's amazing adventure. We didn't know him but very much enjoyed his zest for life on that hunt. May he continue to rest in peace. Carl and Debra Conklin Gouverneur, New York
