Theodore Rudd Obituary

Rudd, Theodore

Theodore "Budd" Rudd, age 57 of New London, passed away on Monday, July 6, 2015 from congestive heart failure. He was born on February 8, 1958 to the late Teddie and Daphne (Letcher) Rudd. Budd worked for Curwood in New London and then McCains, where he retired from a disability. He had an associate's degree in electronics and was a double journeyman, card carrying electrician and millwright. Budd's greatest joy in life was his children. He was tough, but taught them many life lessons and how to make their own way in life. He made sure they always strive to be their best. Budd always loved listening to Jessica play the piano and follow Kyrik's band around. It made him feel like a "roadie" for them. His other passions were riding his Indian, working in his garage, and doing metal art. His love of music and reading was an everyday joy. He was as assistant Scout Master for Troop 59, where he loved to nickname the boys, scare them with his roughness and fill them full of knowledge and stories. He was proud of what the boys had done and how the troop has grown. Anyone who knew Budd, knew he had the gift to talk and was an interesting man with all his knowledge of old and new. Those stories will be truly missed by everyone!

Theodore is survived by his wife, Laurrie; daughter, Jessica (Matt Hamock) and son Kyrik (Amanda Wright); three sisters, Wanda (Warren) Nelson, Bonnie Skarr and Beverly Connor and many other nieces, nephews, family and friends.

A Celebration of Life will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 11, 2015 at Cline and Hanson Funeral Home, New London. Friends and family may gather from 9-11 a.m. and may share a story or two about Budd.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established.
