Tracy Amo Obituary

Tracy L. Amo

Tracy L. Amo, age 50 of Appleton, passed away on Monday, February 4, 2013, after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born on June 20, 1962, to Jim and Marge Blair in Salina, Kansas. On August 22, 1986, Tracy married the love of her life, Jim Amo, and spent 26 wonderful years together. Tracy was a proud graduate of Medford High School and UW Eau-Claire. She also earned a Master's Degree in education from Marian College. Tracy loved teaching children, and she spent eleven years at Badger Elementary School in Appleton. While there, she developed a theatrical program that she deeply cared about. Tracy always had a deep faith and was also very patriotic. She had great passions for singing, Christian music, baseball, and acting as a host family for the Timber Rattlers. What Tracy enjoyed most though was watching her children grow up and excel in all of their academic and sporting endeavors.

Tracy is survived by her husband, Jim; children: Cambria, Cassy, and McKenna Amo; parents, Jim and Marge Blair; siblings: Debbie (Verlan) Karpinske, Cheryl Foytek, Wendy Bockin, Cindy (Brian) Zielke, Jim (Kathy) Blair, Mark (Laurie) Blair; mother-in-law, Faye Amo; sisters-in-law: Sherry Fox, Marsha Johnson, and Jayme Amo; special friend of the family, Beth Grimmer. Tracy was preceded in death by her grandparents, Forrest and Osa Taylor; parents-in-law, Jim and Myrtle Amo; brother, Richard Blair.

A memorial service for Tracy will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February, 9, 2013, at FIRST UNITED METHODIST CHURCH, 325 E. Franklin Street, Appleton, with Rev. Dr. E. Doyle Blanton officiating services. Friends may call on the family at the Wichmann Funeral Home, 537 N. Superior Street, on Friday, February 8, 2013, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. There will be an additional visiting hour before the service at 10:00 a.m. at church. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in Tracy's name. Contributions can be made at any Fox Communities Credit Union location under the account title name of Tracy Amo Memorial Fund.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff and children at Badger Elementary School and Jim's co-workers at Orthopedic and Sports Institute for the love and care that they've shown. They would also like to thank Dr. Guenther, Dr. Munson, Dr. Yazbak, Dr. Brooks, and their entire staffs for their compassionate care.

Tracy Amo took me in her home for the Rattlers 2006 season. I only lived here for 3 months but in that time I witnessed how sweet and motherly this woman was. I can only imagine the mark she put on countless children in school. Ill never forget visiting her classroom and seeing the smiling kids look in amazement at us ball players, and Tracy smiling ear to ear proud as we read them a book. My daughter was born on her birthday in 2021! I will never forget her as long as I live

Tracy,
You have always been my hero, now you are my angel, I love all the moments we shared together, never taken for granted. You will always remain a legacy at Badger Elementary because every child's life you touched, they will always remember you as a wonderful and dedicated teacher who spent endless hours outside the regular school hours promoting activites for students. I love you, and I love your three girls. They are strong, beautiful, and stand tall because of what they have learned from you.your soul sister, Debra Tuttle "Tut"
