I never knew Warren personally, but I knew very well many of the family. Ruth and Kip have always been in my "court" when needed. The twins used to beat up my doubles partner and I in high school to toughen us up and get us ready for competition. I used to run into Tate in his younger days all the time.
Warren left a legacy for the family and put Neenah on the map for tennis.
When I run into the family at different events in my life, they are always smiling and laughing. You have to be proud with what you left WW

Kip, we send our condolences in your father's passing. He lived a long and good life and I know his spirit will live on in all your family members. He was much loved. And to my dear friend Ruthie. I wish you peace and strength as I know you will miss your "father" dearly. With love and sympathy, Jim & Gail Jensen

Kip, Wendy, John,
I am sorry to hear of your loss.
Your Dad and our Dad were friends. They had much in common as sportsmen, competitors, teachers, willing to learn new mental and physical skills. They worked to pass on their love of people and learning. We children crossed paths frequently in school, church, and sports. As friends and competitors in the Boy Scout tent, the outside hockey rink, the grade school basketball court, the Big Ten tennis match, we children were products of our fathers.
Your Dad's legacy speaks for itself.
I am fortunate to have known your parents.

Kip and Ruth and the entire Whitlinger clan..We have lost one of the great ones. The mold was broken when Warren was born. I was telling someone the other day about the barn on the island and how Kip toughened up my doubles partner and I in High School with his 12 year old twins-and they whooped us. He will be missed but the name lives on and what a great name it is. Many fond memories of the Whit family. Tom Marshall class of '80, three year letter winner, co MVP Regional and Conference champs thanks to the fine coaching of the Whitling family...

Kip, Ruth, Tori, Tate, Tami, Terri, John & Wendy:
I cried today for your Bubba, and a man who I will always love for the gift he gave. I will never forget all the special moments in the “barn”, and time spent talking in the back den. Warren taught us a way to play a game, and as I've found over the course of 20 years – way to live a life. His spirit lives on.
