Anne Leonardson Obituary

100 Years Loved. Anne Brimley Leonardson, 100, passed away August 30, 2018, at her home in Idaho Falls, ID.
She was born June 3, 1918 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Charles and Rachel E. (Brimley) Larsen. At the age of 3 Anne's mother married Sydney Close and along with her mom and siblings moved to Spencer Idaho. She attended school in Spencer and graduated from high school in 1936.
On March 14, 1939 she married Elmer C. Leonardson. They made their home in Dubois, Idaho where Elmer worked with his father and later his sons in the grocery and general merchandise business. After Elmer retired from the family business in 1981 Anne and he spent several months each winter in St. George, Utah. They enjoyed traveling and shared many wonderful trips together.
Anne was an active member of the Baptist Church and served in many positions in the church and in the Ladies Aid. She often helped out at the family store and at one time wrote news for the local Clark County paper. Anne was active in PTA when her children were young, volunteered for the American Cancer Society and enjoyed helping out at the Community Library and local Heritage Hall Museum. She was a gifted organizer and loved to put together scrap books and photo albums some of which can still be found at the museum.
A wonderful mom, grandma and aunt, her greatest joy in life was her family. She loved being a homemaker and being there for and with her family. Her home is filled with pictures and photo albums of family and friends over the years as well as her collection of purple dishes, spoons and memorabilia, many collected on trips she and Elmer took. Her family was so pleased to honor and celebrate her with a 100th Birthday Party this past May and are so thankful for the many family and friends that joined them.
She will be so missed by her family; sons, Michael (Janet), Leonardson of Hurricane, Utah; Terry (Lauri) Leonardson of Idaho Falls and a daughter, Vicki (Darrell) Russell of Idaho Falls; her 10 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, and 5 great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer, a son, Patric K.; a grandson, Patric; son-in-law, Darrell Russell; a brother, Leonard Larsen; and a sister, Geraldine Terry.
Funeral services will be at 11 am on Tuesday, September 4, 2018 at Buck-Miller-Hann Funeral Home, 825 East 17th Street, Idaho Falls, ID. Visitation with family will be from 6:30-8:00 Monday, September 3 and for one hour before the service. Burial will be in the Dubois Cemetery.
