Barry Lin Johnson, 66, of Idaho Falls, passed away early Monday, Sept. 23, 2013, surrounded by his family at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center.

He graduated from Bonneville High School, where he played basketball all three years for the Bonneville Bees. He attended Ricks College and graduated with his associate degree from Utah Technical College in Provo, Utah.
On Aug. 21, 1970, he married Darla Young in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. Together, they raised their family of seven children. Barry was a farmer, working alongside his father, Lin, and brother, Travis, for many years. As his sons grew up, they worked on the farm with their dad and grandfather.
He was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He was called to serve a mission to the Manitoba Minnesota/North Central States Mission as a young man. In his later years, he served in a bishopric and on the stake High Council.
Barry enjoyed watching Utah Jazz and BYU games. He especially enjoyed his sons' sporting events and spending time with his family and grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife, Darla of Idaho Falls; sons, Barry (Merilee) Johnson of Kingsville, Texas, Greg (Heather) Johnson, Eric (Julie) Johnson and Ryan (Ashley) Johnson, all of Idaho Falls, Cory (Suzi) Johnson of Surprise, Ariz., and Rod (Janeen) Johnson of Kearns, Utah; daughter, Sharolee (David) Kent of Ucon; sister, Robin (William) Haack of Ucon; brothers, Drew (Trudy) Johnson, Travis (Kathy) Johnson and Todd (Tammi) Johnson, all of Idaho Falls; and 24 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Brad Johnson.
