Connor Carroll Obituary

Connor Allen Carroll, 17, of Idaho Falls, passed away Oct. 9, 2016, at his home.

Connor was born Jan. 19, 1999, in Chattanooga, Tenn., to Timothy Leo Carroll and Christina Marea Godfrey. Connor was baptized in the Catholic church and grew up and attended schools in Idaho Falls. Connor was a senior at Bonneville High School at the time of his death. He was working as a cook at MacKenzie River Pizza.

Connor was an athlete and enjoyed playing sports, especially baseball. He enjoyed hunting and camping and being with his friends. After his baseball career ended with a shoulder injury, he loved his dirt bike and he became a sand dune junkie. Connor had a special relationship with his younger brother, Daniel. They were best buddies.

Connor's outgoing personality, witty charm and infectious smile impacted all of us. Please, never forget this amazing young man who has touched all of our lives in the short 17 years that he was with us. The outpouring of love and support from the community has been astounding and has moved the hearts of his family and is greatly appreciated. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Connor's name to SPAN (Suicide Prevention Action Network) Idaho through Wood Funeral Home, P.O. Box 51434, Idaho Falls, ID 83405.

Connor is survived by his mother, Christina Godfrey of Iona, Idaho; father, Tim Carroll (Megan Hoffer) of Idaho Falls; brother, Daniel James Carroll of Idaho Falls; stepsister, Kayla Jo Hoffer of Idaho Falls; stepbrother, Logan Godfrey of Rigby, Idaho; stepsister, Karlie Godfrey of Rigby; stepsister, Kelsie Landon of Idaho Falls; and grandparents, James and Carol Winn of Salina, Kan.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Leo and Margie Carroll.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 14, at Iona LDS Stake Center, 7555 N. 55th E., with Bishop Lance Lindley officiating. The family will visit with friends from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Thursday at Wood Funeral Home East Side, 963 S. Ammon Road, and from 10 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. Friday prior to services at the church. Burial will be in Ammon Cemetery. Condolences may be sent to the family online at www.woodfuneralhome.com.

I miss him more than words can even explain. We didn't know each other extremely well but the times I was around him everything seemed so right. I'm sorry for your loss and he will NEVER be forgotten.

Dear Tim, Chris, and Daniel, I was so very sorry to hear about Connor's death. I wish I had the chance to know him. From everything I've read, Connor was an amazing person who touched others in such very special ways. I'm grateful for the time he spent living in our midst because he obviously made a lasting difference. Please hold fast to all your good memories, and be gentle with yourselves as you adjust to life without Connor's physical presence. Much love to you all.
