Dale Robert Beck, 68, of Idaho Falls, passed away Oct. 24, 2017, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center of natural causes.
He was born May 27, 1949, in Idaho Falls to Lester Robert Beck and Pearl Richeson Beck. He grew up in Idaho Falls graduating from Idaho Falls High School.
He married Carol Lee Andersen March 2, 1974, in Idaho Falls. They were happily married for 43 years.
Dale was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He was considered the neighbor watch guard. If there was a problem the neighbors knew they could call Dale. He taught his children to take care of your neighbor. He taught his children to be mindful of the elderly. He made sure our family took care of the elderly. He was known for mowing the neighbor's lawn and shoveling their walk.
He had a strong work ethic. He started working in Shelley at French's in 1969. His first position with them was a laborer. He worked his way up to be a master mechanic. Everyone that knew Dale knew if you wanted it fixed see Dale. He was well known for saying, "If you're going to do something, do it right the first time." Though the company had several buyouts during his career, he stayed there and retired in 2009 from Basic American Foods.
When he was not working at the plant, he was busy keeping up with his three rental homes.
He also had an amazing sense of humor. He took joy in making people laugh. He also enjoyed the outdoors. He loved fishing, camping, four wheeling and huckleberry picking. He loved activities the whole family could be involved in.
He is survived by his wife, Carol Lee Andersen Beck; three children, Michelle Beck, Idaho Falls; Travis (Amber) Beck, Idaho Falls; Tracey (Shane) Raber, Rigby; one brother, Scott (Carol Lyn) Beck, Pasco, Washington; and eight grandchildren.
He was preceded by his parents and his brothers, Jay Beck and Reed Beck.
Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 28, at Annis-Little Butte Cemetery with Bishop Kirk Doman officiating. A visitation with family will be Friday evening from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the LDS 11th Ward, 1235 Juniper Drive, Idaho Falls. Arrangements are under the direction of Nalder Funeral Home in Shelley.
