Daniel Isaac Albertson, 79, of Osgood, passed away March 1, 2008, at his home with his family gathered around him. He was under the tender care of his loving wife assisted by Aspen Hospice.
He was born April 23, 1928, in Osgood to Francis Annis Albertson and Margaret Elizabeth Robinson Albertson. He attended schools in Osgood, Ammon and Idaho Falls.
He married Ora Idonna Landon on July 8, 1945, in Osgood, Idaho. They made their home in Osgood, where they raised their six children on the family farm.
He was a member of the State Guard, Elk's Lodge and National Farmers Organization. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in the Elders' Quorum, High Priests' Quorum, as Secretary in the Young Men's Organization and in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple.
Dan loved farming, which was his lifelong occupation. Whenever he got the chance, you would find him with a fishing pole in hand and his wife alongside him. He spent many weekends camping with family and friends. Those were the times of great fun. There would be old-time stories, jokes and a lot of laughter. In the beginning, these moments were shared with Dan and Ora's brothers, sisters and friends. They were soon joined by their children, grandchildren and even great-grandchildren. His many stories will go on and on. Dan will be missed but never forgotten.
Survivors include his wife, Ora Albertson of Idaho Falls; son, Ronald D. (Norma) Albertson of Roberts; daughter, Bev (Rockwell) Smith of Boise; son, Danny (Diane) Albertson of Idaho Falls; daughter-in-law, Kathy Albertson Allred of Big Timber, Mont.; son, Blane (Sandy) Albertson of Rexburg; son, Bart (Carol) Albertson of Idaho Falls; brother, Floyd (Janeal) Albertson of Riverside; sisters, Nyla Landon of Firth, Annis Taylor of Idaho Falls and Gloy (George) Messick of Rexburg; 25 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
