Donald V Warner, 86, of Rigby, passed away Tuesday, June 3, 2014, at his home.
He was born May 2, 1928, in Grace, Idaho, to William Carlson Warner and Katherine Johanna Van Den Akker Warner. He was raised and attended schools in Rigby, graduating from Rigby High School. During high school, he participated in football, baseball, and was active in the FFA program.
On Nov. 2, 1951, he married Nadine Hansen in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. They were blessed with two daughters and four sons.
Don was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints; he served in several capacities, including a full-time mission to South Africa in his younger years, and later in life served in the Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada Mission with his wife, Nadine.
Don was a member of the Lions Club and was active in the National Farmers Organization. Don was a dairy farmer for many years and enjoyed farming and animals. His hobbies included fishing, hunting and traveling. He loved having family around and would frequently exclaim, "It doesn't get any better than this!" He is survived by his wife, Nadine H. Warner of Rigby; daughters, Julie Kaye W. (Reino) Macki of Rigby and DeAnne Warner of New York; sons, Richard A. (Joyce) Warner, Van H (Karen) Warner and W. Roger (Kristine) Warner, all of Rigby; sisters, Ruth W. (Herb) Harrop of Idaho Falls and Nancy Anne W. (Loren) Stegelmeier of Rexburg; brother, Kent O. (Brenda) Warner of Terreton; 14 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Darhyl Lucille Warner; and son, Dennis K. Warner.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, June 6, at the Rigby Stake Center with Bishop Carl Poulsen conducting. The family will receive friends from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Thursday at Eckersell Memorial Chapel, 101 W. Main St. in Rigby, and from 9:30 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. Friday prior to services at the church. Burial will be in Annis-Little Butte Cemetery. Services are under the care of Eckersell Memorial Chapel in Rigby.
