Irving Ernest "Ernie" Kendle, 84, of Idaho Falls, passed away Monday, Oct. 24, 2016, at his home. He was under the loving care of his family and Hands of Hope Hospice.
Ernie was born September 12, 1932, in Maywood, California, to Pierce Albert Kendle and Annie Leslie Jenkins Kendle. He grew up and attended schools in Perry, Oklahoma. He moved to Idaho Falls in 1949.
On October 31, 1953, he married Corliean Turner. To this union were born two children, Vaughn and Vicki. Ernie and Corliean made their home in Idaho Falls, where Ernie owned and operated Kendle Well Drilling & Pumps. He was also a partner in Auto Trim Design.
He was one of Jehovah's Witnesses and was active in sharing about God's Kingdom. He appreciated his many friends and especially loved his family. He enjoyed his cabin in Island Park.
Ernie is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Corliean; son, Vaughn (Cheryl) Kendle of Idaho Falls; daughter, Vicki (Steve) Rovig of Boise, Idaho; and grandson, Camden (Ashley) Rovig of Boise, Idaho.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Pierce and Annie Kendle, a brother, Russell, and a sister, Alice.
Memorial Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 5, at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 1480 Jefferson, with Russel Goyen officiating. The family will visit with friends following the services. Burial will be in Fielding Memorial Park Cemetery.
