On Thursday, May 28, 2015, after a long and valiant battle with cancer, our sweet, loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Janice Dodson, passed on to her heavenly home.
Janice was born March 30, 1936, to Noah Dee and Nancy Tate. She was born and grew up in Kimberly, attending both elementary and high school there. She will always be remembered by her family and many friends as having a friendly and gentle personality despite suffering with chronic physical pain from a neck injury incurred many years ago.
Janice enjoyed maintaining a beautiful lawn and tending her flowers and shrubs. In addition to being a devoted mother and loving grandmother, she served with love and compassion, helping her daughter on a daily basis, as a caregiver to her grandson, Brody who suffered with Duchenne's Muscular Dystrophy, until his death at age 18. She was a faithful and devoted Christian and a member of the Nazarene Church from her early youth until the time she passed from this earth. Almost without exception, all of the writings in her journal ended with, "thank you Jesus".
Janice is survived by her loving husband of 61 years, Don Dodson; son, Gary (Marnie) Dodson; daughter, Jana Evans; grandchildren, Sean, Lindsay and Amanda Dodson; and a special little girl, Aleiyah, great-granddaughter.
She was preceded in death by her parents, all of her siblings, and grandsons Seth Dodson and Brody Albertson.
Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, June 6, at the First Church of the Nazarene, 1900 Grandview Drive. The family will visit with friends from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday at Wood Funeral Home, 273 N. Ridge Ave., and from 10 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. Saturday at the church. Interment will be in Fielding Memorial Park Cemetery in Idaho Falls. Condolences may be sent to the family online at www.woodfuneralhome.com.

Don..Jana and Gary. I called and talked with your mom 2 days before she passed. I'm so grateful I was able to do so...your mom has been in my life since I was alittle girl. I told her I was headed to Alaska for the summer...she knew my lifestyle and I couldn't leave Idaho Falls without talking to her. I was also home in April..mom and I went over to the house and we had such a nice visit with her and Don. I'm glad she is no longer in pain...I'm sure God welcomed her with open arms and said.."Thou hast done well my faithful servant. Hugs to you all...I loved your mom very much. God bless...Kim Haefele Egdorf

Don, Jana and Gary. I loved Janice dearly. She always encouraged and loved me from the day we moved to Idaho Falls in 1992. She was an exceptional friend. We had so many fun times from lunches to lady retreats and of course she had hugs for me every time we were together. Janice was the best example of a lady who loved her God and family with all her heart. I want to be just like her when I grow up! I will see her again one day! Ann Freeman
