Joan Diamond Obituary

Joan Diamond, age 85, died in Sandy, Utah, on September 5, 2024. She was born in Salt Lake City, Utah to Glen and Ruth Henderson and raised in Rexburg, Idaho. Joan attended Utah State University where she joined Alpha Omicron sorority and met her husband, Verl Diamond.

Joan and Verl married in 1961 and moved to Del Rio, Texas, for Verl's USAF pilot training. It was the first stop of many for the military family and Joan approached each move with a sense of adventure. Joan loved her family and working with young adults, eventually retiring from BYU-Idaho Bookstore. The moves continued after retiring, eventually settling in Sandy, Utah. Retirement meant spending wonderful days in Island Park, Idaho, doting on her dogs, and never saying no to a good chocolate milkshake.

Joan is survived by her husband (Verl) and daughter (Diane). She is preceded in death by her son (Brian), sister (Carol), and brother (Darrell). Interment will be on September 13, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. in the Rexburg City Cemetery.
