Kendi Gerard Fullmer, 48, of Idaho Falls, died Tuesday, Nov. 15, 2011, at the home of her daughter in Woods Cross, Utah, due to complications from cancer.
She was born March 9, 1963, in Idaho Falls to Kenneth Gerard and Edna Reese Gerard. She grew up in Iona and graduated from Bonneville High School in 1981. She attended Ricks College.
On Sept. 10, 1982, she married Merrill Fullmer in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. They were blessed with two wonderful children.
She worked for Maceys, Jackson's Levis, Medical Mart, The Children's World of Learning and School District No. 93 as a teacher's aide. She also worked at the polls during elections.
As an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, she served as a Relief Society president and counselor, in the Primary, as Young Women's president and as a camp director.
Kendi enjoyed camping, shopping, decorating, spending time with her family and skiing.
She was a loving wife, daughter, mother, grandmother and sister. She always put others first. Her personal scripture of life was that if you can take delight in little children and be a friend to older folks you know, you are bound to be a happy person always and the lovely woman you were meant to be. She loved the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
She is survived by her husband, Merrill Fullmer of Idaho Falls; daughter, Brooke (Eric) Sessions of Woods Cross, Utah; son, Wes Fullmer of Idaho Falls; mother, Edna Gerard of Iona; brothers, Craig (Jan) Gerard and Steve (Linda) Gerard, both of Idaho Falls, and Jack (Mindy) Gerard of Iona; sisters, Peggy (Bill, deceased) Briggs and Sally (Dave) Louk, both of Iona; and one very loved grandson, Bridger Sessions.
Kendi was preceded in death by her father, Kenneth Gerard.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Nov. 21, at the Iona LDS 6th Ward Chapel, 1040 N. Crimson Drive in Idaho Falls, with Bishop David Adams officiating. The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 20, at Coltrin Mortuary, 2100 First St. in Idaho Falls, and Monday for one hour prior to services at the church. Burial will be in Iona Cemetery.

Kendi was a wonderful person; so talented, kind and just a great example of what a woman should be. We will forever treasure the memories of the fun times we had together when our children were small and we lived close by. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all.

My deepest sympathies to the Gerards and to Kendi's family. It is so hard to see someone leave when they are so young. May the Spirit be with you and comfort you.
