Lillian Kienlen, 99, of Idaho Falls, died at Good Samaritan
Nursing Center on Oct. 30, 2007.
She was born Sept. 6, 1908, in Council Bluffs, Iowa, to William and Minnie Meirotto. When she was 10, the family moved to Idaho Falls.
They lived on a farm where Taylorview Jr. High School is now located.
She married Horton Kienlen on Jan. 30, 1935, in Idaho Falls. They lived and farmed in the Taylor area.
Lillian was a member of the
First Presbyterian Church for 89 years and served in many capacities. Her parents helped build the church. She was a member of the Idaho Falls Garden Club and worked as a volunteer at Good Samaritan Nursing Center. She enjoyed playing pinochle and bridge. Lillian was an avid gardener and was known for her culinary skills.
Survivors include her children, Kay (Jim) Rose and Jerry (Linda) Kienlen, both of Idaho Falls, and Judy (Dick) Stanton of Boise; nine grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband and brothers, Elmer, Ted and William Meierotto, all of Idaho Falls.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, Nov. 2, at the First Presbyterian Church, 325 Elm St. in Idaho Falls, with Rev. Dennis Falasco officiating. A viewing will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery in Idaho Falls. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the First Presbyterian Church, 325 Elm St., Idaho Falls, ID 83402. Condolences may be sent to the family online at www.buckmillerhann .com.
