Lloyd Barrott Obituary

Albert Lloyd Barrott, M.D., 80, of St. Anthony, passed peacefully from this life Wednesday, Oct. 24, 2012, surrounded by loving family.

He was born Sept. 19, 1932, in Stevensville, Mont., to Albert William and Elizabeth Dawson Barrott.

Lloyd grew up in Montana and Osborn, Idaho. He graduated from Blackfoot High School in 1950.

He joined The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on Sept. 23, 1950.

Lloyd married his eternal sweetheart, Betty Alice Pack, on June 13, 1951, in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. He graduated from BYU and from medical school at the University of Utah. He completed an internship at Deaconess Hospital in Spokane, Wash.

They have lived in St. Anthony since 1960. He spent 37 years as a family medical doctor, delivering more than 2,000 babies and caring for thousands of sick and injured. He loved his profession and was known to all as a compassionate and caring physician.

Lloyd had many interests, including fishing, skiing and water sports. He was a Rotarian and was involved in many civic activities. His greatest joy, however, was his family. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather.

He was a faithful member of the LDS church, where he served in many capacities at both the ward and stake levels. He and his beloved wife served as medical advisers in the North America East and Europe West areas. He also had a great love for Scouting, was an Eagle Scout and was awarded the BSA Silver Beaver Award.

He is survived by Betty, his wife of 61 years; and their 10 children, Ann (Bob) Wicks of Oxford, Ohio, Lynette (Bill) Stapleton of St. Anthony, Julie (Grant) Willis of Rexburg, James (Sue) Barrott of Chattanooga, Tenn., John (Chris) Barrott of Kimberly, Idaho, Tyrie (Janet) Barrott of Idaho Falls, Holly (Jim) Poloncic of Heber City, Utah, Brad (Michelle) Barrott of Pocatello, Mary Jo Barrott of Tampa, Fla., and David (Dy) Barrott of Orting, Wash.; 38 grandchildren; and 26 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Lynn Daileda.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Monday, Oct. 29, at the St. Anthony Stake Center, 247 E. Fourth North, with Bishop Brent Thompson officiating. Family visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 28, at the St. Anthony 2nd Ward, 145 E. First North, and from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Monday at the stake center. Interment will be in St. Anthony Cemetery.

The family suggests that contributions may be made to the Boy Scouts of America or to the Perpetual Education Fund of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
