Nellie Rae Casper, 90, died Tuesday, Feb. 2, 2016, in Kirkland, Wash.
She was born in Ashton, Idaho, on June 24, 1925, to Arthur and Harriet Ruth Campbell. Nellie attended grade school through the ninth grade in the Ashton and Idaho Falls areas and completed her education in La Grande, Ore.
On Oct. 12, 1943, she married Thomas D. Casper in Los Angeles, Calif. Soon after, they moved back to Idaho Falls, where she lived for the next 66 years and where they raised their two children, Paul Casper (1946) and Karen Casper Dixon (1951.) In 2011, she moved to Kirkland to be near her children.
For many years, Nellie was a member of the Idaho Falls Assembly of God Church. During that time, she served the congregation in the various roles of Sunday school teacher, youth leader, Sunday school superintendent and play director. Later, she also attended the Alliance Covenant Church.
Nellie began her career as a bookkeeper in 1960 at Peterson's Furniture. She was later employed at Chad's Furniture and retired in 1992 from the law offices of Holden, Kidwell and Hahn.
She is survived by her son, Paul (Peggy) Casper of Springfield, Ore.; her daughter, Karen (Phillip) Dixon of Kirkland; granddaughter, Poppy (Franz) Lochridge; grandsons, Perry (Leah) Casper, Bryan Dixon and Joel Dixon; great-granddaughters, Chloe Frink, Elin Casper and Avery Casper; her brother, Donald (Judy) Ashley of Boise, Idaho; and many nieces and nephews.
Nellie was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Casper; parents; and sisters, Arlene, Lois and Mary.
A memorial service to celebrate Nellie's life will be held at 4 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 13, at Evergreen Hospice Care Center in Kirkland. Interment will be at the Ammon Cemetery in Ammon, Idaho, at a later date.

We had just pulled a small booklet off the shelf called “Reflections” which is a collection of Aunt Nellies writings, and then checked the email which reminded us of Aunt Nellies death. What a coincidence. She is still our favorite Aunt.
