Randall McCallon

1958 - 2024

Randall Scott McCallon passed away at the family home in Rigby, Idaho at approximately 7:30 am on August 14, 2024 surrounded by family.

Randall grew up in California and after meeting his first love Julie Allen, had a child Jarrod. They later married and journeyed to Salt Lake City, Utah and then back to California. The trip back brought a second son Taylor McCallon. Shortly after, they moved back to Utah where Randall worked as an auto mechanic for a Honda dealership. Craving adventure and wildernesses to be close to home, he transitioned his family to Idaho and settled in Rigby.

Randall loved being able to drive 15 minutes to his favorite fly-fishing spot on the Snake River and did this frequently after work with his boys. Anybody that knew Randall was touched by his huge heat and unmistaken determination to do anything he wanted.

Boating was also a huge deal and he would take his boys, and their friends as often as he could. As an avid archery hunter, he never had much luck, but always enjoyed the trip and being in the woods.

Later he would take an overseas job in Iraq where he worked as a mechanic assisting the soldiers with repairing vehicles. He did this for approximately 12 years between Iraq and Afghanistan. On his three- week vacation he took once a year, he would return home for a bit, then spend the rest traveling through Asia when he met his wife Kornisa. Later they were married and moved to the US where Randall continued to work for Mantech International on the state side in California. He retired shortly after and in 2021 moved back to Rigby and began building the American Dream of a cabin with the whole family in Ashton, Idaho. Randall didn't believe in paying someone to do anything he could do himself, and with that mindset, a cabin was built. Randall spent complete summers living out his dream all the way up to the end.

A celebration of life will be held Saturday, August 24, 2024 at 5:00 PM at the family home.
