Vickie Lyn "Nancy" Landers, 57, of Idaho Falls, died suddenly at home Monday, April 14, 2014.
Vickie was born Aug. 14, 1956, in Idaho Falls to Elmer "Boss" Elg and Opal Oakey Elg. She grew up in the area and attended Hawthorne Elementary, O.E. Bell Junior High School and Skyline High School. After high school, she joined the United States Marine Corps and served as a private. She received an honorable discharge in 1975.
On Sept. 19, 1987, Vickie married Wayne Eugene Landers in Palisades, Idaho.
She worked as a special education assistant at Taylorview Middle School for 22 years and was a mother, homemaker and gardener.
Vickie loved spending time with her family playing cards and games, camping and fishing. She was an avid gardener and grew beautiful flowers and vegetables, delighting in sharing it with everyone who visited.
Wayne and Vickie spent many summers floating the South Fork, where they fished and camped. She loved to fly fish.
She also loved working with special needs and disabled children at Taylorview and influenced many of her students' lives. She had also worked in a group home in Darlington, where she cared for residents.
Survivors are her husband, Wayne Landers of Idaho Falls; daughters, Michelle (Monte) Waters of Shelley and Nissen (Frank) Liddiard of Stansbury Park, Utah; son, Jeffrey Jordan of Idaho Falls; granddaughter, Madison Waters; grandson, Matthew Waters; brothers, Jeffrey Elg and Shane Elg, both of Idaho Falls; sisters, Robyn Lee (Michael) Croft of Bothell, Wash., and Susan Janet (Merlin) McAffee of Idaho Falls.
She is preceded in death by her parents.
Graveside funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, April 19, at New Sweden Cemetery.

I will miss my aunt Vickie. She had the best smile, always had words of encouragement for me and was always telling me and her family members how much she loved us.
