Alice Robideau
SCHROON LAKE - Alice Robideau, 92, died on September 27, 2023, at her apartment in Schroon Lake, NY. Born in Schenectady, NY, and a graduate of Mount Pleasant High School, she was the daughter of the late John and Virginia Szymalak.
Alice was a beloved member of the North Country Community which she moved to after retiring from a career as the owner of several small businesses including a delicatessen and pizzeria in her hometown.
She is predeceased by her parents and son, Michael Robideau and husband, Richard Robideau. She is survived by her sons: Kevin Robideau of Schroon Lake and Sean Robideau of Boise, ID; and grandsons: Connor and Hayden Robideau also of Boise, ID.
After moving to her cabin on Paradox Lake, Alice became a contributing and sustaining member of the community including her time working at the Schroon Lake Pharmacy. Alice enjoyed her involvement with the Senior Citizens Program and dedicated her time and efforts to the Schroon Lake Food Bank.
The family would like to express its gratitude to the many friends who supported her. The family would especially like to thank Bill and Lorraine Altman for their special friendship and the help they provided during Alice's later years.
A Memorial Service will be conducted at 11:00 AM Tuesday, October 17, 2023, at St. Andrew's Episcopal Church in Schroon Lake, NY.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations in Alice's memory be made to the Schroon Lake Food Pantry where Alice was a volunteer for many years.
