Althea Rivette

CORINTH – Althea Rivette, 78, of Route 9N, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 28, 2024 at Saratoga Hospital with her loving family by her side.
Born on March 30, 1945 in Corinth, she was the daughter of the late Gerald and Lula (Butler) Winslow.
Althea graduated from Corinth High School and then from Beauty School in 1974.
She married James Rivette on June 1, 1963 in Corinth and the couple resided on Route 9N for many years.
Althea was employed as a Beautician since 1974, owning and operating Hair Doo Part II in Corinth for several years and then Hair City in Greenfield Center for a few years until she became sick and had to retire.
She was a member of the Corinth Planning Board for many years.
Althea enjoyed camping, shopping, having her family over for swimming in her pool and hosting family events. She also enjoyed going to the Racino.
Besides her parents, she was also predeceased by her son, James Todd Rivette and daughter-in-law, Pamela Rivette and her sister, Jenny Walters.
Survivors besides her loving husband of 60 years, James Rivette of Corinth; include her daughter, Jill Petteys (Kevin) of Porter Corners; her five grandchildren: Schynel Burnham (Chad) of Corinth, Schynia Petteys (Antonio) of South Glens Falls, Jeffery Petteys of Middle Grove, Cory Pickett of Wilton and Lianna Rivette (Kevin Long) of Colonie; her three great-grandchildren: Brody, Ella, and Beckett; and her beloved fur babies: Yaddo, KD, and Precious.
A Celebration of Althea's life will be held at 5:00 p.m., Monday, March 4, 2024 at the Densmore Funeral Home, Inc., 7 Sherman Ave., Corinth with Lane Schermerhorn, officiating.
Friends may call from 3:00-5:00 p.m., Monday, at the funeral home, prior to the service.
Burial will be at Corinth Rural Cemetery in the spring.
The family wishes to thank Laura Spotswood for her kindness, endless compassion and devotion to Althea and to the family.
The family suggests that in lieu of flowers, donations in Althea's name go to your local animal shelter or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital at www.stjude.org.

I only met you a few times but working with your granddaughter , meeting your daughter Jill and your husband! I have to say you have done an awesome job because they all love you!! So sorry Shynel, Jill and Jim!Always hold your loved ones tight!
