Anna Dougher Obituary
Born on June 26, 1926 in South River, New Jersey, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Catherine Schonenberger.
She graduated from Glens Falls High School and briefly during WWII, she was employed with General Electric.
A lifelong loving mother and homemaker, Anna helped her community by working the election polls for many years at the Bay Ridge Polling station. She was a competitive bowler in both the ladies singles and couples league with her husband. That competitive streak continued to the Saturday night penny ante poker games she enjoyed for over 30 years with her husband and family. An avid knitter she made numerous sweaters, mittens, and hats for friends and family. She sewed her children's clothes, prom dresses, graduation dresses and a wedding gown with her sister Marge for a special niece. She loved her mystery books and shows, British comedies and in her last years Yankees baseball.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her loving and devoted husband Robert Dougher, her daughter Karen and seven sisters and one brother and their spouses, her five brothers-in-law and their spouses.
She is survived by her son David Dougher and her daughters Elizabeth Dougher, Donna Skoll and Elaine (Heath) Coffin, three grandsons Jason Jabaut, Robert Farr and Russell (Christine) Farr, several nieces and nephews and great nieces and great nephews.
A special thanks to the tower 6th floor and 2nd floor nursing staff at Glens Falls Hospital.
Family and friends may call from 4pm to 7pm on Friday, July 25, 2025 at Singleton Sullivan Potter Funeral Home, 407 Bay Rd, Queensbury, NY.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11am on Saturday, July 26, 2025 at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Warren St., Glens Falls, NY.
Burial will follow at St. Marys' Cemetery, South Glens Falls, NY.
Memorial contributions may be made to Amanda's House, National Kidney Foundation, American Cancer Society or the Crandall Library in memory of Anna.
