QUEENSBURY – Anne Fitzgerald, of Queensbury, passed away at home surrounded by loved ones, at the age of 75, on Sunday, December 31, 2023.
She was born on February 16, 1948, the daughter of the late John and Margaret (Flynn) Spring in Glens Falls, NY.
Anne graduated from St. Mary's Academy and Adirondack Community College prior to starting a career at Glens Falls National Bank. She left the bank when her children were born and became the Superintendent's Secretary at Queensbury UFSD, breaking in several new Superintendents over the years and eventually retired from school to spend time with her loving husband, George, of over 50 years.
Anne enjoyed vacationing in Maine and South Jersey with the family. She loved waking up to catch the sunrise and walking on the beach with her grandkids, Alyssa, Kyle and Tyler, while they searched for seashells, Cape May diamonds, star fish and sea glass. She loved shopping trips (especially for different plants) with her sister, Kathy, and she would decorate the house, yard and pool area with flowers and herbs that she planted every summer.
Anne was an avid reader and loved putting together large puzzles. Her grandkids meant the world to her, and she would do anything for them including attending their track meets, field hockey, soccer and baseball games both home and away. She enjoyed riding to all the different game locations and spending the day with her son, Chris and husband, George at all the big sporting events. She also loved organizing holiday parties, including the family;s favorite, Easter, with an egg hunt that had over 200 filled eggs every year.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her son, Jason Fitzgerald; her brother, Tom Spring and sister-in-law, Joanne (Tom) Pierce of Vineland, NJ.
She is survived by her beloved husband, George Fitzgerald, of Queensbury; her son, who was always there for her and she cherished spending time with, Christopher (Heather) Fitzgerald, of Queensbury; her adoring grandchildren: Alyssa, Kyle and Tyler Fitzgerald of Queensbury; her sister and best friend, Kathleen Spring, of Queensbury; sister-in-law, Ginger Spring, of Queensbury; sister-in-law, Mary (Jim) Davis, of Queensbury; brother-in-law, Michael (Tina) Fitzgerald, of Hudson Falls; along with several cousins, nieces, nephews, grand-nieces, grand-nephews and her loving box turtle, Boxer.

I am so sorry to hear about Anne's passing. This breaks my heart. She was a wonderful, kind soul and I always enjoyed chatting with her when she worked here at Queensbury or seeing her outside of school at Tyler's baseball games. You are in my thoughts and prayers at this difficult time. I will say a special prayer for her.
