Barbara Yedlowski

INDIAN LAKE - Barbara Yedlowski, 76, formerly of Indian Lake, passed away Thursday morning, April 25, 2024, at the John Clarke Retirement Center, Middletown, RI.
Born on August 6, 1947, in Brooklyn, she was the daughter of the late Lawrence J. Palestri, Sr. and Elizabeth "Betty" (McConnell) Palestri. She was a graduate of Glen Cove High School.
Barbara married Mario Yedlowski on May 12, 1979, at St. Patrick's Church, Glen Cove, NY. Mario passed away on August 17, 2010. They shared 31 years of marriage.
Barbara worked at Mutual of New York prior to moving to Indian Lake in 1995. She then worked as Deputy Town Clerk for Indian Lake for several years.
She was an active leader of St. Matthias Boy Scout Troop 327, Ridgewood, Queens.
She enjoyed reading and taking tripsaround the Adirondacks. She was very social and loved to visit with family and friends. Barbara was a loving and devoted caregiver to her late husband.
She was predeceased by her parents, her husband, and siblings: Joanne (Palestri) Pascucci, Lawrence Palestri, Jr., and Ronald Palestri.
Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Mark Yedlowski and Rebecca Ripstein-Yedlowski; her grandchildren: Addie, Milo, Emery and Abel; a brother, Gregory Palestri; a niece and several nephews.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated 1:30 p.m. Saturday, May 4, 2024, at St. Mary's Church. Following mass, friends and family are invited to call at Miller Funeral Home, 6357 State Rte. 30, Indian Lake, from 4:00-6:00 p.m. for visitation.
