It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness, we announce the unexpected passing of Carol L. Martin, a beloved mother, partner, sister, and friend, who departed this world on October 24, 2025, in her cherished hometown of Glens Falls
Born on June 1, 1963, Carol was a radiant spirit who touched the lives of all who knew her. Carol was the daughter of the late Gordon J. and Nancy C. Omiecinski Martin.
Carol attended Hudson Falls High School, Carol was known for her entrepreneurial spirit and dedication to her work from a young age. She began her career by running the Gold Shade and later the Filling Station for many years. Her passion for real estate led her to establish Martin Property Management, where she thrived as a realtor, building a reputation for her integrity and commitment to her clients.
Beyond her professional life, she had a zest for life that was evident in her interests and hobbies, which included playing poker, indulging in scratchers and lottery games, Carol would drop anything she was doing to go to the casino and play slots, and for a time in her younger years, driving her beloved mud truck.
Known for her strength in business in a man's world, Carol was a beacon of generosity and kindness. Her door was always open, and her heart was ever willing to help those in need. She epitomized the spirit of giving, often inviting those who faced hardship into her home during the holidays, ensuring that no one felt alone during difficult times. Carol's love and support were unwavering; she was an open ear for many, providing comfort and guidance to all who sought her counsel.
Family was everything to Carol. She poured her heart into her loved ones, always giving of herself selflessly and putting their needs before her own. Her legacy is one of compassion, strength, and an enduring spirit that will continue to inspire her family and friends for generations to come.
She is preceded in death by her loving parents and her dear grandparents, Helen and John Omiecinski.
Carol's family was the cornerstone of her existence. She is survived by her life partner, Earl "Chip" Pregent, who stood by her side for many years. Carol was a devoted mother to her children, Joslyn (Mark) Brown, Brandi Gitto, Daniel (Brooke) Needham, and Jakob Pregent. Her legacy continues through her three cherished grandchildren, Mark Brown, Leilla Needham, and Daniel Needham. Additionally, she leaves behind her siblings, John (Debra) Martin and Jamie (Richard) Wilson; along with several nieces; nephews; and cousins who will forever hold her memory close to their hearts.
Graveside services will be 1 p.m. on Saturday, November 1, 2025, at Union Cemetery in the town of Fort Edward
Everyone is invited to gather to celebrate Carol's life, and her unwavering support, and the boundless love she shared with everyone around her, following the Graveside Services at the West Glens Falls VFW, 32 Luzerne Road, in West Glens Falls.
Carol L. Martin will be profoundly missed but never forgotten. May her soul rest in peace, and may we carry forward her legacy of love and kindness.
Carol's family would like to express their sincere thanks to her friend, Lisa Talmage and the ICU Unit at the Glens Falls Hospital for their care and compassion given to her.
In honor of Carol, contributions may be made to local charities that support those in need, reflecting her lifelong commitment to helping others.
