Dale C. Farrand

FORT EDWARD - Dale C. Farrand, 78, passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 9, 2023 at his home surrounded by his family following a long illness.
Born May 20, 1945 in Canistio, NY, he was the son of the late Carleton and June Farrand.
Dale proudly served his country in the United States Air Force.
Dale graduated from Canistio High School, Class of 1963. He earned an Associates degree from Adirondack Community College in 1986, and his Bachelor of Science degree from Kaplan University in 2005, as well a certification from the National Institute Certification of Engineering Technology.
He was employed as a resident Office Engineer Inspector and an Engineering Consultant for many companies such as Shumar Engineering, Clough Harbor, DKI Engineering in Clifton Park, OMP Popli in Poughkeepsie, as well as Earth Tech, Inc. in Louisiana for disaster recovery for Hurricane Katrina and Rita.
Dale resided in Fort Edward for 24 years with his wife, Catherine. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and his dogs. He was an avid fan of the NY Yankees, the Syracuse Orangemen and the NY Giants. He enjoyed cooking for his family, gardening, and traveling for his employment.
In addition to his parents, Dale is predeceased by his brother, Donald Farrand (Anna), as well as his brother-in-law, Tom.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Catherine; his bonus children: Edward, Donald, Eric, and Tracey; his children: Richard and Sherene; his siblings: Dianne (Paul) Sherman, Donna (Tom) Huemme, Darlene (Robert) Richardson, Dawn Salzman, David Farrand, Dan (Darlene) Farrand, and Anna Farrand; as well as several grandchildren; nieces, nephews, and great-grandchildren.
At Dale's request there will be no calling hours. Services will be private and at the convenience of the family.
Arrangements are in the care of the M.B. Kilmer Funeral Home, 82 Broadway, Fort Edward, NY 12828.
The family wishes to extend a special thank you to Dr. Amy Hogan-Moulton and staff, and a very special thank you to the team at DCI Glens Falls, and Glens Falls Hospital.
