Dorothy Field Obituary

WHITEHALL Dorothy L. (Robetor) Field, 91, of Railroad Avenue, passed away on Wednesday, July 16, 2008, at the Glens Falls Hospital after a short illness. Born on Dec. 20, 1916, in Whitehall, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Mary (Rodd) Robetor. Dorothy worked for the Lake Champlain Spinners in Whitehall and International Paper in Ticonderoga where she was a quarter century member. She was a communicant of Our Lady of Hope Roman Catholic Church in Whitehall. She enjoyed spending time with her family, fishing on Lake Champlain, playing pinochle, going to senior meals, reading and gardening. Dorothy was married on Oct. 27, 1933, to her caring husband, Burgess Raymond Field. They celebrated 57 years of marriage before his passing on Jan. 16, 1990. Besides her parents and her husband, she was predeceased by three brothers and one sister. Dorothy, loving mother of five children, is survived by: Dorothy L. (Mitzie) Nolette and her husband, Marvin, of Whitehall, Burgess R. Field Jr. and his wife, Mary, of Ticonderoga, Frances M. Anderson and her late husband, Donald, of Florida, Robert E. Field of South Carolina and Leonard A. Field and his wife, Sherri, of Whitehall; one brother, Eugene Robetor and his wife, Marguerite, of Whitehall; and proud grandmother of 18 grandchildren and 35 great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be conducted on Monday, July 21, 2008, at 11 a.m. at Our Lady of Hope Roman Catholic Church in Whitehall with the Rev. Michael Flannery, pastor, officiating. Interment will follow at Our Lady of Angels Cemetery in Whitehall. There will be no calling hours. Arrangements are under the direction of the Jillson Funeral Home, Inc., 46 Williams St., Whitehall, NY 12887.

Lenoard, sorry about your mom. she is looking down from heaven. watching over her love ones. i enjoyed knowing her all these years. the store will never be the same without her. she was special to everyone that was in her life. she is now with her husband. where she knows she is at peace.no words can ever take your pain way.
