Frank Usher Obituary

QUEENSBURY * Frank Donald Usher Sr., 74, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 3, 2006, at Glens Falls Hospital after a courageous three-year battle with cancer.

He was born in Hudson Falls on April 25, 1932, the son of the late Kenneth and Beatrice (Norton) Usher.

He was a veteran of the U. S. Army, serving in the Korean War.

Frank married the love of his life, Caroline Lemery, on April 25, 1953, at St. Alphonsus Church.

He retired from the Glens Falls Cement Co. after 30 years of service.

Frank was a member of the VFW. He loved golf and was an avid sports fan, always watching his favorite teams, the Yankees, Giants, and especially the Schuylerville Colts.

He was all about family and loved being "Poppi" to his four grandchildren and his one great- grandchild.

Frank was predeceased by not only his parents but also his brothers, Kenneth and Terry Usher, and his sisters-in-law, Lorraine Stark and Linda Usher.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Caroline (Lemery) Usher of Queensbury, and their children, Frank D. Usher Jr. and his soulmate, Donnalynn Milford of Glens Falls; Michael J. Usher of Saratoga; Sue Campagnone and her husband, Daniel, of Gansevoort; and Andrea Willson and her husband, Paul, also of Gansevoort.  He is survived by his grandchildren: Frank D. Usher III and his wife, Tammy, Katie Campagnone, Krista Willson, and Derek Willson; and great- granddaughter, Brianna Sue Usher; along with his brothers, Jack Usher and his wife, Suzette, Paul Usher, David Usher and his wife, Marie, and Jerry Usher; his sisters, Joy Thomas, Colleen Carpenter and her husband, Mickey, and Kathy Usher; as well as his friends from the Monday night meetings.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 6, at Singleton-Healy Funeral Home, 407 Bay Road, Queensbury, with Deacon William Bazinet officiating.

Family and friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 5, at the funeral home.

Donations in Frank's honor are suggested to Cancer Research Fund, 681 Fifth Ave., New York, NY 10022.

His lively sense of humor will dearly be missed, yet the lessons we have learned and the memories we have shared will last forever.
