GREENWICH - George H. Beck, 77, a lifelong resident of Greenwich, passed away peacefully with his wife by his side, on Wednesday, January 3, 2024, at Saratoga Hospital following a long illness.
He was born February 16, 1946, in Easton, NY, to the late Harold and Natalie (Henderson) Beck.
Georges greatest passion in life was sports and his boys. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. He was always caring and generous to those he loved. George loved his family, animals, games, and competition of all kinds.
He enjoyed country music, sudoku, and solitaire, always making sure to keep his mind sharp. For over 40 years he worked Union Construction in Albany and Troy.
George always brightened the lives of his children, nieces and nephews, he fit right in with them, and always supported them.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his sisters: Jacqueline Aldous, Carole Phinney and Jeanne Clark.
Survivors include his loving wife of 37 years, Louise (Mosso) Beck of Greenwich; sons: George Duke (Karen) Beck of Greenwich and Adam (Kaitlin) Beck of NC; step-daughter, Brandy Jamieson of Greenwich; grandchildren: Ryan Beck, Alison (Matthew) Rimkunas, Maximus Dixson, Parker Jameison and Wyatt Jameison; siblings: Andrea (Rodney) Powers of Saratoga Springs, Edris (Edmund) Kapper of Greenwich, Edward Beck of Saratoga Springs, Barbara Beck of Saratoga Springs and Helene Traver of Saratoga Springs; many nieces and nephews; as well as the Mosso Family.
George wanted to give special thanks to his niece, Christie Beck, nephews: Calvin and Alex as well as niece, Lyla.
George requested no calling hours or service.
Donations in his memory may be made to a local animal shelter of the donor's choosing.
