I doubt I ever expressed this to him directly, but George played an important role in my life - got me through high school and safely ushered out of Cambridge. For that alone he earned my life long appreciation and affection. I shall remember him as a teacher and a friend.

Mr. Leyden was one of my favorite teachers at CCS. He always encouraged us to think for ourselves, presented arguments on both sides of issues when teaching us current events, and showed young minds that the world is exceedingly more complex than news media or loud voices made it seem. I always appreciated his wonderful humor, cheerful disposition, and the respect he showed his students. Praying for his family as they grieve this great loss.
