Harry Dvorack Obituary

HADLEY -- Harry J. Dvorack, 91, of Hadley, died Friday, July 20, 2007, at home after a short battle with lung cancer.

Born in New York City on Sept. 18, 1915, he was the son of Albert and Josephine (Vlk) Dvorack.

He served in the Army during World War II. After his discharge, he serviced office equipment and was a member of the United Furniture Workers Union. Later, he worked part time as a crossing guard.

Mr. Dvorack enjoyed coin collecting and was facinated with gadgets. The love of his life was his dog Benji, "My Baby." He was very sociable and was quite a joker. He moved from Austoria, New York City to Port St. Lucie, Fla., where he lived for about 30 years. He then moved to Hadley in 1996.

Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his three brothers, Frank Dvorack, Albert Dvorack, Joseph Dvorack; and one sister, Doris Dvorack Snyder.

Survivors include his sister, Ethel Dvorack Zilm; his nephews, Frederick Zilm and his wife, Lois, of Lake Luzerne, Charles Zilm and his wife, Joanne, of Farmingdale, Long Island, and John Zilm and his wife, Judith, of Crestwood, Westchester County; and many grand and great-grandnieces and nephews.

There will be no calling hours. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 9 a.m. Monday, Aug. 6, at the Church of the Immaculate Conception, 409 Palmer Ave., Corinth.
