FORT EDWARD - Janet Ross, 88, died Saturday, October 12, 2024 at Fort Hudson Nursing Center in Fort Edward.
Born December 5, 1935 in Chestertown she was the daughter of the late Kenneth and Elsie (VanDerwarker) Little.
Janet was employed as a Bookkeeper for Glens Falls Distributing Company for many years . She was a realtor and owner of Little Realty of Glens Falls. Janet was a active member of the community, she was a member of the Glens Falls Symphony, Operetta Club, Community Theater, past President of the Glens Falls Seniors, 2006 Realtor of the Year, AM Bowling League at Lake George Bowl, member of the Chestertown Community United Methodist, Christ Church United Methodist Church of Glens Falls and the Master Singers
Besides her parents she is predeceased by two sisters: Helen Maxam and Patricia Roberts.
Survivors include one son, Michael (Beth) Ross, DVM; and one daughter, Deborah (Bill Tutton) Ross, PHD; one brother, Kenneth (Cathie) Little, Jr.; one sister, Irene MacGlashan; grandchildren: E. Stone Ross, Kennedy Mae Ross, Alexandra Marie Ross, Michael Rowen Ross; one step-grandson, Will Tutton; and many, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Relatives and friends may call from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM Thursday, October 17, 2024 at the Barton-McDermott Funeral Home, Inc., 9 Pine St., Chestertown, NY 12817. Funeral services will follow at 1:00 PM at the funeral home. Interment will be at Chester Rural Cemetery U.S. Rte. 9, Chestertown, NY.
Memorials in Janet's name may be made to Glens Falls Senior Center, 380 Glen St., Glens Falls, NY 12801.

I did not know Janet very well, but I did know her for many years. I first met her through bowling, but in years after she was my favorite usher, always ready with a smile and a greeting as she handed me a program at many events. She was a sweet lady and I send her family my sincere condolences.
