June Hartman Obituary

June Hartman, 101, of Dalton, Mass., passed away peacefully on August 24, 2025. She was born in Norwood, N.Y. on September 29, 1923 to Howard and Lucile Ramie Chapman.

She was educated in Glens Falls schools and was a 1941 graduate of Glens Falls High School. In 1943, she studied nursing at Child's Hospital in Albany, N.Y.

June married Clifford Hartman on September 16, 1946. He predeceased her in 2014.

Mrs. Hartman was a LPN for over 50 years. She was a staff nurse at Glens Falls Hospital for 17 years. From hospital work she was employed at Glens Falls Retirement Home as a full time staff nurse overseeing the care given to the Home's residents.

She was a member of the Jane McRae Chapter, Daughters of the American Revolution, and the Glens Falls Hospital Guild. She was an active member of the Wesleyan Church in Glens Falls, N.Y. After moving to Massachusetts, she became a member of Berkshire First Church of the Nazarene and was a volunteer at the Dalton Senior Center. She enjoyed volunteering at church and for Meals On Wheels, which she did for over 25 years.

Mrs. Hartman is survived by her two daughters, Patricia Ball and husband, Robert of Middletown, Del., and Sandra Aasen and husband, Ronald of Dalton, with whom she lived. A brother, Donald Chapman and his wife, Diana of Hernando, Fla.; six grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her siblings, Edwin Chapman, Pauline Streeter, Rebecca Potter, Arland Chapman, and Rev. Harold Chapman.

FUNERAL NOTICE: A memorial service will be held, Saturday, September 20, 2025 at 11 a.m. at the Berkshire First Church of the Nazarene in Dalton with the Rev. Adam Ziegler officiating. There will be an hour of visitation prior to the service from 10 to 11 a.m. at the church. She will be interred at the Saratoga National Cemetery in Saratoga, N.Y. at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in her name to the Dalton Senior Center in care of Dery-Foley Funeral Home, 890 E. Main St, Dalton, MA 01226.

My sympathy to the Hartman family. June has been in my prayers for a long time . The last I saw her was at Ron Streeters funeral. I am a 1st cousin to the late Elmer Streeter.
