QUEENSBURY - Kathleen A. Hubert passed away on August 16, 2025, after a long battle with multiple cancers.
She was born August 2, 1942 in Harrisburg, PA, the daughter of Alvin and Virginia (Lick) Mitchell. She graduated from Columbia High School and went on to earn a BS degree in Early Education from SUNY Plattsburgh, where she was recognized as Who's Who in American Colleges. After graduation, she began her teaching career as a kindergarten teacher at Jackson Heights in Glens Falls. After four years, she left to raise a family.
She was a past chair of the fresh air programs in the area. She was also an active member of Adirondack Voices and the Queensbury United Methodist Church choir.
Kathie returned to continue her teaching career at Warrensburg School District, teaching third grade for many years.
She was predeceased by her parents.
Kathie is survived by her husband of 60 years, David; and their four sons, Jeffrey (Sarah) of Tacoma, WA, Glenn (Veronica) Lanexa, VA, Douglas (Jimae) of Endicott, NY, and Kyle (Julie) of New York, NY; grandchildren, Erick, Thomas, Cole, Emonn, Zinadin and Giric. They were all very special to her.
She is also survived by her brother, James Mitchell of Maine.
Family and friends may call from 3 to 5 p.m. on Monday, September 15, 2025 at Singleton Sullivan Potter Funeral Home, 407 Bay Rd, Queensbury, NY.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, September 16, 2025 at St. Alphonsus Cemetery, Queensbury, NY.

I remember Kathy from being in the Queensbury Methodist choir with her in the 1980´s 90´s, when Helen Sander was our Choir Director. If I remember, correctly, Kathy took care of cataloging a lot of the music. We always had a great time in choir, during that time. My sincere sympathy goes out to Kathy´s family.

I am so sorry for your loss! I worked with Kathy at Warrensburg Elementary school for many years. Kathy was such a kind, compassionate teacher who was liked and respected by her students and teachers. Kathy made a difference to her third graders!
