SOUTH GLENS FALLS - Kevin A. Prendergast, 71, a resident of South Glens Falls passed away peacefully on Monday, Aug. 31, 2020 at the Warren Center in Queensbury.
He was born on Sept. 27, 1948 Glens Falls and was the son of the late Dr. Arthur James and Mary Rita (Ames) Prendergast.
Kevin was raised in South Glens Falls and graduated from South Glens Falls High School, where he was a member of the basketball and football teams. Growing up Kevin served as an altar boy for St. Michaels Church and was also a member of the Boy Scouts of America. Kevin attended and graduated from SUNY Plattsburgh. He later became a Parish Council member for St. Michaels' Church and was a long standing member of the Elks Club in Glens Falls as well as a little league coach in Willsboro. Kevin retired from the New York State Parks where he worked for many years. He enjoyed spending time with his family and was known for making people laugh. He will be remembered as a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend.
Survivors include his wife of 49 years, Deborah J (Jacques) Prendergast; one daughter, Shannon K. and her husband Justin Stevens of Hudson Falls; four granddaughters: Brinley, Cami, Alexis and Haileigh Stevens; two brothers: A. James Prendergast Jr. and his wife Donna of Florida and Robert L. Prendergast of South Glens Falls.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 11 a.m. on Thursday, Sept. 10, 2020 at St. Michael the Archangel Church, Saratoga Ave, South Glens Falls.
Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery in South Glens Falls.
There are no calling hours scheduled.
Memorials may be made in the form of contributions to the St. Michaels' Bereavement Ministry, 80 Saratoga Ave., South Glens Falls, NY 12803.

So sorry to hear about Kevin’s passing. Kevin was my good friend going back to the time of Saint Michaels school. A great guy, easy to laugh and sincere heart I recently got to see him during the South High guys get together. I’ll miss him. My condolences to his wife, Jim, Bobby, and Kevin’s entire family.
